Hello World!
Have you ever prayed over your house? Have you ever prayed over your room? Have you ever prayed over your pets? What about your kids? What about your parents? If you have, that is amazing! If you haven’t, then let’s talk about it.
Why is it that we seem to pray over ourselves and those that are in need of immediate help due to sickness or hurting that we can see? Why is it that so many people seem to pray only when something is wrong or when they are told to? Well, I will be honest in saying that I do not have the one and only answer but I do believe that it has something to do with the lack of closeness we have with God. Meaning that the more you invest in your relationship with The Lord, the more you will want to and think of praying. So, how do we get there?
Becoming closer to God is solely between you and him. No one else can do it for you. As I have continued on my journey of seeking him, I have found that reading the Bible and truly sitting in his presence has done wonders. As I continue with my journey in following The Lord, I have gained so much comfort in speaking with him. For a long time I held back until one day the flood gates opened and I began to find myself speaking until I could barely think. That is what I long for every time I sit down in his presence. The comfort he has given me and the patience he has with me has allowed a growing sense of longing to talk with him and trusting in his protection over anything in my life or others lives. So, with that being said, I have learned to pray more proactively and with ease. I have long prayers for those I know and do not know. Now, when something happens, I have trust that it was his hands molding my life and when I see a mountain move, I know it is because of a prayer and he answered.
