“He said rest and watch me lead.” These are the words that brought me to tears this morning as I made my way into work. At that moment my breath left my lungs and tears burst from my eyes. If I were standing I would have hit my knees. Isn’t it such a wonder how you can go about your normal routine and when you reach out for the Father even it’s just a tiny bit, he will send you the clearest reminder that he sees, hears, and holds his children. Now this doesn’t happen all the time but when it does, there’s no doubt of his presence.
I won’t go into the reasons why this phrase hit me like a brick wall but I can try to explain the feeling as tears rolled down my face. For someone who has always struggled with needing to be in control because of one reason or another, hearing those words knocked the wind out of me and forced me to let go of everything long enough to realize how it feels to have God completely in control of your life as you fall back on him. The instant reminder that when you make him your foundation, he is the strongest rock to fall on.
There’s so much that we go through as humans but when we are forced to let go I pray that you have that same feeling. I pray that as I did this morning, you have a ground shaking encounter with his presence so you remember that he is everything you need. I pray that you feel that comfort and grace in that moment as you let go knowing you are in the best hands. Until next time my brothers and sisters. We’ll talk soon!
