Importance in Community

For a very long time I held the mindset of a loner. I would not let people close no matter how much they tried. I had it in my head that all I needed was myself and I could make it through anything. It took me a long time to realize just how wrong I was.

While in my new faith journey I have began to realize how important it is to have people around you that are followers of Jesus. I see now how God places those in our lives to help us along our path as we follow him. Whether he places them in your path as a mentor, a friend, a prayer warrior, or even just as a brother or sister in Christ, he is faithful in providing you a community of who you can help when they can help or who you can help when you can help.

If you go to Exodus and read through the story of Moses you will see this play out first hand as God provides Aaron to Moses as a helper and brother while Moses walks the path that The Lord lays out before him. Just as it was for Moses and Aaron, it is so important that we acknowledge those around us and allow God to use us and assist each other down the paths we are called.

If you don’t have anyone yet, I pray that you will find your community as The Lord places people in your life for the purpose of the paths he has laid out. Until next time my brothers and sisters, we’ll talk soon!
